About me

May your hands be the extension of your heart and
may you do the work of love with them

My journey into becoming a professional holistic & complementary healthcare therapist started 20 years ago when I had my first shiatsu treatment during a holiday and it really, literally touched something in me. It inspired me to start my studies at the European Shiatsu School, graduating with a diploma after a thorough and complex 3 years of training.

My exploration of and interest in oriental therapies and philosophies had already started decades ago stepping on the mat for my first ever yoga classes which I continued to enjoy for years and which eventually lead me to also complete a qualification to become a Thai Yoga Massage (Nuad) Practitioner.

I discovered Pilates after some down-time due to injuries and my inspirational teacher was 76 at the time! I have experienced how Pilates can help to re-connect with your body and how empowered it can make you feel. When I realised the benefits on my own body and mind, I knew I wanted to teach it and help others. Since qualifying as a Level 3 Pilates instructor I especially enjoy teaching beginners and I love to inspire my students to discover body awareness to support a healthy, functional body for everyday activities. I do believe it is accessible to everyone!

Supporting others on their journey is incredibly motivating and inspiring. When a client leaves, feeling calmer and more relaxed, with a greater sense of wellbeing, feeling stronger or free from tension and pain – is the best reward! I also love bringing people together as a group and how clients enjoy the social aspects of the group classes, coming together, finding support and sharing experiences.

I have always had an inquisitive mind and keen interest in holistic therapies and my personal development and practice are an ongoing exploration (I don’t think the journey is ever going to stop). I am motivated to continue my quest for knowledge, and it has led me to complete various additional post-graduate modules and other courses. Relatively recently I have added a qualification as a Mindfulness and Relaxation Trainer.

I also hold a Reiki I + II qualification and am currently studying Animal Communication.

I love nature, the natural world, animals and gardening and I love spending time in nature and around animals. Being in nature helps me forget the stresses of life, I find real inner peace, a connection and sense of being grounded.

I also have a keen interest in conservation work and support various projects around the world. Especially close to my heart is the big iconic megafauna of Africa and - if I have a chance - apply my budding photography skills to capture a perfect moment.

I love to nurture, whether it’s the plants in my garden, animal orphans as a volunteer for a local wildlife rescue or my clients through my range of offerings, knowledge & experience.

It's such a reward to see how my group classes bring people together for essential social interaction and I enjoy fulfilling a basic human need of connection through kind, honest touch and touchtherapy.
